Classic Before
A tired Heywood-Wakefield cushioned stool in need of a brighter future.
The client’s direction: Bright, deep colors in abstract shapes and swirls.
Deconstruction and Planning
The springs needed to be retied, but other than that the bones of this stool were just fine. After a few watercolor sketches it was time to move into the studio. Wool was dyed, fabric stretched, yarn tufted.
Construction
After everything was glued, and hand-sewn together, it was time to put things back together again
Refreshed After
My client is super happy with both how this turned out. I'm happy about that and what I learned along the way! Looking forward to the next time I get to recover something.
